Founded in November 2019, Sugar & Rind was founded by Philly Mackinnon during the Covid hiatus. Always an optimist, she was convinced that everyone was going to want a party once the nightmare was over. Luckily, she was right! Since then, Sugar & Rind has been going from strength to strength, establishing themselves as s key player in the events indsutry for both private and corporate clients.
Sugar & Rind also works with a range of venues across the South East and in particular at Bush Hall, operating as their in-house team for private hire. They are also an Official Event Planner for Kachette, a brilliant, urban arched venue in Old Street

Philly Mackinnon – Founder
Philly Mackinnon, an events pro of 25+ years. She’s worked agency side (IMG & Havas), brand side (Betfair) and venue-side (Jockey Club Racecourses and Wembley Stadium). That breadth of experience cultivates a deep understanding of the needs and desires of each and every client that we work. In short, wherever you’re coming from, Philly gets it.


Lindsay Philo – Head of Sales
Previously Head of Sales at a well-known central London venue, Lindsay brings a wealth of experience to our team having worked at an events venue from it’s inception. She’s particularly in the venue sector where Sugar & Rind continues to expand. Her warm and gentle approach to sales is also to be noted as something that’s highly effective!
Carmen Chiu – Event Manager
Hailing from Hong Kong, Carmen’s extensive background in organising events spans over a decade, covering a wide range of event types, including government, public, corporate, and international exhibitions & conferences. You will find her upbeat attitude, and meticulous work ethic a joy to work with!

Alex Morrisoe – Marketing Guru
Alex Morrisoe looks after our marketing, website optimisation and content creation. Having worked in the UK events industry for over 20 years, he was the perfect fit to do our marketing. Rather than having to spend hours trying to explain the industry to him, he often explains it to us, so what could be better when it comes to the tricky strategic decisions about where, when and how to market our brand!
